Newswise — SAN ANTONIO — The American Association for Cancer Research, The Cancer Therapy & Research Center at The University of Texas Health Sciences Center at San Antonio, and Baylor College of Medicine will be hosting the 2013 CTRC-AACR San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium, Dec. 10–14, at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center, San Antonio, Texas.
The symposium provides news on state-of-the-art breast cancer research, including experimental biology, etiology, prevention, diagnosis, and therapy of breast cancer and premalignant breast disease.

Press conferences will take place Wednesday, Dec. 11, at 7:30 a.m. CT and 12:30 p.m. CT; Thursday, Dec. 12, at 7:30 a.m. CT; and Friday, Dec. 13, at 7:30 a.m. CT.A press kit containing releases and highlighted abstracts will be available Dec. 3. Research that will be highlighted in the press program includes:
• New results on long-term survival from the NeoALLTO trial;• First results from the I-SPY2 trial;• Results from the IBIS-II Prevention study;• Insight into effect of PIK3CA mutations on response to neoadjuvant treatment;• Impact of adding new agents to neoadjuvant therapies for triple-negative breast cancer;• New drug combinations for metastatic breast cancer;• Results of a trial evaluating benefits of loco-regional treatment for women with metastatic breast cancer;• New insight into the benefits and harms of mammography; and• HOPE study results assessing benefits of exercise for women with breast cancer treatment-related side effects.
