Newswise — The 35th annual Babson College Entrepreneurship Research Conference (BCERC) will be hosted at the Verve Crowne Plaza in Natick, MA on June 10-13, 2015.

BCERC, widely considered the premier conference for entrepreneurship research, was established in 1981 to provide a dynamic venue where academics and real-world practitioners link theory and practice, and to encourage and increase quality research in entrepreneurship. The 2015 BCERC Call for Papers received 566 abstracts from 36 countries. Of these, over 315 researchers are attending the conference from 25 countries to present papers.

In addition to the conference, and hosted in conjunction with BCERC since 1985, Babson will hold the 2015 BCERC Doctoral Consortium Program. The Doctoral Consortium provides doctoral students with the opportunity to gain insight into current research issues through intense interaction with consortium faculty, and seeks to encourage scholars and educators to become leaders in the field of entrepreneurship education. This year, the Doctoral Consortium received 96 applications from 19 countries and the top 25 were selected to participate. Both the Arthur M. Blank Center for Entrepreneurship at Babson - the event’s Diamond Sponsor, and the Martin J. Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University - its Gold Sponsor, are also supporting the Doctoral Consortium Scholarship.

The BCERC is pleased to have Gold level support from The Martin J. Whitman School of Management, given that its flagship program - Entrepreneurship and Emerging Enterprises (EEE), is consistently ranked as one of the top entrepreneurship programs in the nation in terms of research, teaching, and outreach. EEE helps undergraduate, masters, and, Ph.D. students discover their innate entrepreneurial potential, giving them a set of tools and perspective to help launch their careers. The underlying teaching philosophy of the EEE program is experiential learning, and the entire program is dedicated to providing hands-on opportunities for students to live entrepreneurship.

On Friday evening, June 12, at Babson’s Knight Auditorium, the Best Paper Awards for the 2014 issue of Frontiers of Entrepreneurship Research BCERC Proceedings (FER) will be announced. FER contains summaries of all presented and abridged papers for the 40 best papers presented each year, and is the most comprehensive collection of empirical research papers on entrepreneurship, representing research from institutions from around the globe.
