(July 3, 2017) – The American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS) is very pleased to announce that The AAPS Journal, AAPS PharmSciTech and Pharmaceutical Research continue to successfully disseminate quality content to the pharmaceutical sciences community. According to Clarivate Analytics’ 2016 Journal Citation ReportsAAPS PharmSciTech’s Impact Factor (IF) increased from 1.954 in 2015 to 2.451 this year. In fact, in 2016 there were 5,222 citations to 318 items published in the journal in 2014 and 2015!

The AAPS Journal (AAPSJ) held firm with an IF of 3.423, with 4,659 citations to 289 items published in 2014–15. AAPSJ is currently ranked 65 of 256 titles in Pharmacology and Pharmacy. Pharmaceutical Research has a strong IF of 3.002, ranking 87 out of 256. 

The 2016 IF ranking system is based on the number of times articles published in the previous two years were cited in 2016. It is one of a number of tools, also including downloads, peer review metrics, Immediacy Index and EigenFactor, used by the publisher, authors and librarians to determine the ranking of journals in their particular field of study and value in purchasing a subscription.
