Newswise — Nominees are sought to serve as Directors on the Board of the ASM Thermal Spray Society, the leading global source for thermal spray information.
The Board will install three new Board Directors during 2008. "We are particularly seeking nominees from the service and academic communities," said Nominating Committee Chairman Dr. Rick Knight, Drexel University. "Nominations, however, are welcome from all segments of the thermal spray community."
Nominees must be a member of the ASM Thermal Spray Society and must be endorsed by five TSS members. Board members who have served only one term and whose terms are expiring may be eligible for nomination and possible re-election on an equal basis with any other nominee. Nominations must be received no later than May 15, 2008.
Founded in 1994 as an Affiliate Society of ASM International, TSS is comprised of 1,500 individuals around the globe representing over 500 leading companies, research institutions and universities. The TSS Board of Directors is focused on the following objectives:
- Increase membership in existing/new segments - Enhance corporate visibility/value proposition - Enhance value proposition for members through new products and services- Engage industry/academic leaders in society - Increase outreach to promote thermal spray technology outside our own industry- Increase global exposure
