Newswise — Babson College and Santander International Entrepreneurship Center (CISE) recently presented the second offering of the CISE-Babson Symposium for Entrepreneurship Educators. The program, supported for Banco Santander, through its Santander Universities Global Division, was taught to a group of 40 academics and entrepreneurs from multiple institutions at the University of Cantabria in Spain.

“This training program, developed in coordination with Babson College, is strategic because, through sessions imparted by expert teachers in entrepreneurship, we are creating educators with a very different profile that will form an international group of trainers in entrepreneurial initiatives,” said Federico Gutierrez-Solana, CISE director.

Offered to Santander Fellows around the globe, and now to all CISE related Fellows, the goal for the CISE-Babson Symposium for Entrepreneurship Educators is to foster entrepreneurial growth and economic development through entrepreneurship education.

Through this customized version of the Symposium for Entrepreneurship Educators (SEE) program, Babson seeks to develop an ever increasing international cadre of innovative entrepreneurship educators who understand the importance of creating intellectual and practical connections between theory and practice in teaching.

“Babson is thought leader of 'Entrepreneurship of All Kinds' and provides a great opportunity with this training program - creating a network of participants in the world to communicate and exchange ideas for developing entrepreneurial best practices in education,” said Gisela Lokpez, Babson Executive and Enterprise Education business development director.

“We are very proud to collaborate with CISE in its aim to become a center of reference in international entrepreneurship,” said Inés Maqueda, responsible for International Expansion of Santander Universities Global Division. Babson has partnered with Santander Universities to deliver its branded methodology of Entrepreneurial Thought and Action®, a unique educational process that trains participants in the "art and craft" of teaching and learning entrepreneurship.

The program content is delivered through experiential exercises, cases, reflective practice, group projects, and interactive lectures. There is a strong emphasis on cultivating the mindset necessary for engagement in entrepreneurship of all kinds.

In this second offering of the CISE-Babson SEE, the program is led by Babson Entrepreneurship Professors Heidi Neck and Andrew Zacharakis.
