Newswise — (New York, NY – June 13, 2014) The Continuum Cancer Centers of New York, now part of Mount Sinai Health System, has received a three-year accreditation with commendation and an Outstanding Achievement Award (OAA) from the American College of Surgeons’ (ACS) Commission on Cancer (CoC). This award is given only to a select group of facilities and recognizes excellence achieved by the Centers in providing quality care to cancer patients.
The Centers were evaluated in 34 program standards categorized within five cancer program activity areas: cancer committee leadership, cancer data management, cancer conferences, clinical services and quality improvement. The Centers achieved commendation level of compliance, the highest level of recognition, within seven standards.
