Newswise — Cowboys for Cancer Research and the University of New Mexico Cancer Center have had a rich 31-year history. They will build upon that history even more for this year’s 32nd annual fundraiser. To celebrate this long-standing event, Cowboys for Cancer Research will have music by The Graham Brothers Band.
New Mexico’s largest cancer fundraiser will take place October 10 at the Las Cruces Convention Center. Proceeds from the dinner, dance and silent auction will fund Cowboys for Cancer Research endowments at the UNM Cancer Center in Albuquerque and at New Mexico State University in Las Cruces.
One hundred percent of these endowments fund innovative cancer research at both institutions. The money raised at this annual event directly benefits New Mexicans because it stays in the state. This collaboration between Cowboys for Cancer Research, NMSU, and the UNM Cancer Center has allowed these institutions to pioneer cancer research.
About the Team Roping EventThe Team Roping competition on September 20 and 21 will begin at 9:00 a.m. The Entry office will open at 7:30 a.m. The roping event will be held at the Southern New Mexico Fairground, 12 miles west of Las Cruces on I-10. About the Dinner, Dance and Silent AuctionCowboys for Cancer Research will host a dinner, dance and silent auction on October 10th at the Las Cruces Convention Center, 680 E. University Blvd, Las Cruces, New Mexico. This year is the 32nd anniversary of the Cowboys for Cancer Research annual fundraising event. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. and the meal will be served at 7:00 p.m. The dance with be held at 9:00 p.m. with music by the Graham Brothers Band.
