Who: The US Chemical Safety Board (CSB) - an independent federal agency charged with investigating industrial chemical accidents - will present findings and recommendations from its investigation into the April 20, 2010, blowout of the Macondo well in the Gulf of Mexico. The Macondo incident had a catastrophic impact. Eleven workers died, 17 others were seriously injured, and millions of barrels of oil spilled into the Gulf of Mexico, making it one of the largest environmental disasters in U.S. history.
What: News Conference at 11:00 am CDT at the Hilton Americas Hotel Meeting Room 338 located at 1600 Lamar Street, Houston, TX 77010. At the news conference media will be briefed on investigation findings and safety recommendations. These findings will then be formally presented to the public and two-member presidentially-appointed Board at a public meeting on the evening of June 5th at 4 pm CDT at the Hilton Americas Grand Ballroom.
