Domestic Terrorism Expert Available at Western Illinois University

Newswise — MACOMB, IL — Western Illinois University's Homeland Security Research Program Director Dean Alexander is available for interviews regarding the mass shooting at an Orlando, FL nightclub.

Alexander is a professor in Western's School of Law Enforcement and Justice Administration (LEJA) and teaches LEJA and homeland security courses. He also conducts homeland security-related research, writes articles for security publications and presents at international conferences on a regular basis.

In addition to his homeland security work, Alexander has conducted extensive research in the area of domestic terrorism. He recently published the op-ed "The Islamic State's Global Terror Reach" in the June 13, 2016 issue of Security Magazine(http://www.securitymagazine.com/articles/87185-the-islamic-states-global-terror-reach).
