Tricia Wachtendorf, Director of the University of Delaware's Disaster Research Center, is an expert on evacuation decision-making and response during disasters. She conducted reconnaissance field research after the 2010 earthquake in Haiti and was also on the ground following the Red River Flood (1997), 9/11 New York City terrorist attacks, Indian Ocean tsunami (2004), Hurricane Katrina (2005), Wenchuan China earthquake (2008) and Japan tsunami (2011).
