Anthony Hay, professor in the department of microbiology at Cornell University, is an expert in the degradation of pharmaceutical and personal care products in the environment, and is available to comment on FDA’s decision to examine the safety and effectiveness of chemicals in soaps and washes – particularly triclosan.

Hay is a member of the Atkinson Center for Sustainable Future as well as The Institute for Comparative and Environmental Toxicology.

He can talk specifically about the potential dangers triclosan poses to humans and animals as well as to water systems and the environment.
