Newswise — EULESS, TEXAS (June 13, 2016) — The Federation of State Medical Boards (FSMB) has released its 2016 Annual Report, showcasing the organization’s progress on a variety of initiatives and projects in 2015-16. Titled “Building Value,” the report includes updates on the FSMB’s advocacy efforts in Washington, D.C., highlights of new products expanding its data and research capabilities, new milestones in educational activities and much more.

Summarizing a successful year that included the continuing growth of state support for the innovative Interstate Medical Licensure Compact, the 2016 report examines the concept of value in several dimensions, including the value of state-based medical regulation, FSMB membership, organizational excellence and FSMB’s products and initiatives.

“As we examine our relationships, it becomes clear that their strength and effectiveness relies upon our capacity for delivering consistent value,” said FSMB President and CEO Humayun Chaudhry, DO, MACP. “In a world in which the opportunities for collaboration abound, the advantages and benefits we offer to others must be clearly stated and widely understood.

“For that reason, we have chosen ‘Building Value’ as the theme for this year’s annual report. Though we have a diverse strategic agenda, each of our goals has a common endpoint: the delivery of value to our stakeholders,” he said.

The second year of the FSMB’s 2015-2020 Strategic Plan, highlighted in the Annual Report, identifies six major imperatives to reflect the evolving health care environment and FSMB’s commitment to delivering value. These include an emphasis on strengthening state medical board support, collaborative relationships, organizational strength, education, research, and data-sharing capabilities.
