Newswise — Todd Phillips, a financial manager with expertise in strategic business development for health organizations, will join the Federation of State Medical Boards (FSMB) executive leadership team as Chief Financial Officer March 1.
The new CFO will be responsible for overseeing budget and finance operations for the organization and will assist FSMB CEO Humayun Chaudhry, D.O., FACP, and his senior management team with strategic-planning decisions.
Phillips served previously as Executive Director and Chief Financial Officer of Emergency Medicine Consultants, a physician-support organization in Ft. Worth, Texas, specializing in physician staffing of hospital emergency departments. Most recently he was the Principal of LandVision Companies, LLC, a development and investment firm.
In making the announcement, Dr. Chaudhry noted Phillips’ experience and expertise in long-term business strategy development.
“Todd Phillips is a proven leader who has successfully integrated business growth, financial management and infrastructure development with strategic vision at each phase of his executive career,” he said. “In addition to seeing the higher level strategic picture he is a very capable day-to-day manager of financial and business enterprises.”

During his 13 years at Emergency Medicine Consultants, the business grew eight-fold in size and revenue, becoming a major provider of emergency physician services in northern and eastern Texas.
Prior to his service at Emergency Medicine Consultants and LandVision Companies, he was an internal business consultant for a predecessor of Bank of America.
Phillips holds a master’s degree in business administration with a concentration in Health Organization Management and a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Texas Tech University.
