Newswise — On July 28, Hackensack Meridian Health Southern Ocean Medical Center Foundation hosted the Third Annual Signature Social, raising nearly $200,000 in support of programs and services at Southern Ocean Medical Center. The cocktail reception took place at Bonnet Island Estate on Long Beach Island where more than 200 guests joined in celebration of the hospital.

“Over the past few years, we have seen remarkable growth at Southern Ocean Medical Center,” explains Thomas Yu, M.D., diagnostic radiology specialist and reception co-chair. “Philanthropy contributes greatly to the hospital’s advancements, so we are grateful for everyone who came out to this event and expressed interest in becoming further involved.”

Guests at the Signature Social had the opportunity to learn more about recent developments at Southern Ocean Medical Center, including a brand new Emergency Department and Cancer Care Center, renovations to the main lobby and outpatient care areas and a Hackensack Meridian Health partnership with Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center which means patients now have new opportunities to benefit from world-class cancer care protocols. Additionally, during the program, guest speaker and Emergency Department nurse at Bayshore Medical Center, Linda Poling, shared a heartwarming story about the life-saving care her mom, Dolores Lydakis, received from Dr. Yu and many other members of the Southern Ocean Medical Center team.

“We are fortunate that a very engaged and energized group attended this year’s Signature Social,” explains Robert H. Adams, Jr., FACHE, president of Southern Ocean Medical Center. “Seeing the community come together for such a wonderful cause is truly inspirational and shows promise that we will only continue to excel in years to come.”

Guests enjoyed a gourmet menu, live music and dancing. The reception was co-chaired by Joseph Lattanzi, M.D., Kimberly Hogan, M.D, Dr. Thomas Yu and Jane Yu and supported by Celebration Sponsor, Southern Ocean Medical Center Medical Staff and Reception Sponsors, Coastal Radiology, Dr. Lattanzi, Dr. Hogan and Phoenix Medical Construction.
