Robert Field is a professor in health management and policy at Drexel University's Dornsife School of Public Health. He also has an appointment as professor in Drexel's Kline School of Law. His research and expertise is in healthcare regulation and reform.

He's recently written on the topic on Philly.com, along with similar merger issues.

On initial merger plans announced in April, Field said, "Unlike employers that purchase coverage for a group of workers and their dependents, consumers who deal with an insurer on their own have no bargaining power and little recourse if premiums skyrocket."
