ISPOR Scientific Awards are designed to foster and recognize excellence and outstanding technical achievement in health economics and outcomes research (HEOR) and its Leadership Awards recognize excellence and outstanding leadership in the field. 

Avedis Donabedian Lifetime Achievement Award
Reed Johnson, PhD is recognized for his outstanding, life-long contribution to the improvement of health outcomes. Dr Johnson is a professor at Duke School of Medicine, Duke Clinical Research Institute, Duke University, Durham, NC, USA. 

Marilyn Dix Smith Leadership Award
Finn Børlum Kristensen, PhD, MD is recognized for his extraordinary leadership to the Society. Dr Børlum Kristensen is is a professor of Health Services Research and Health Technology Assessment at Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Southern Denmark, Odense, Denmark and former secretariat director and chairman of the Executive Committee, European Network for Health Technology Assessment (EUnetHTA). 

Bernie O’Brien New Investigator Award
Sherri Rose, PhD is recognized as an investigator of exceptional promise. Dr Rose is an associate professor at Harvard Medical School, Boston, MA, USA. 

Value in Health Paper of the Year Award
Richard Cookson, PhD receives this award for his outstanding research paper, “Using Cost-Effectiveness Analysis to Address Health Equity Concerns,” published in the February 2017 issue of Value in Health. Dr Cookson is a professor and National Institute for Health Research senior research fellow at the Centre for Health Economics, University of York, York, UK. 

Award for Excellence in Health Economics and Outcomes Research Methodology
Laura A. Hatfield, PhD is recognized for her outstanding research in the field of health economics and outcomes research methodology. Dr Hatfield is an associate professor of health policy at the Department of Health Care Policy, Harvard Medical School, Boston, MA, USA. 

Award for Excellence in Health Economics and Outcomes Research Application
Rebecca Myerson, MHP, PhD is recognized for her outstanding practical application of health economics and outcomes research in healthcare decision making. Dr Myerson is an assistant professor of pharmaceutical and health economics at the School of Pharmacy and University of Southern California Schaeffer Center for Health Policy and Economics, Los Angeles, CA, USA.
