Media Advisory: Experts On HHS Proposed Changes to “Common Rule” Protections for Human Subjects of Research

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has announced proposed revisions to the regulations that govern research on individuals who participate in research.

Scholars at the Johns Hopkins Berman Institute of Bioethics are available to discuss the ethical implications of these proposed changes to the standards of informed consent and safety in research, as well at the American health care system.

A world-renowned bioethics pioneer, Dr. Faden is co-author of the seminal text A History and Theory of Informed Consent, and was appointed by President Bill Clinton to head an investigation into human radiation experiments.
