Led by trained pediatric experts, the Child Life Program at K. Hovnanian Children’s Hospital provides a variety of activities throughout the day to help create a fun and positive environment in the hospital and helps alleviate the stress associated with illness. Whether it’s bedside, in playrooms or in the teen lounge, special activities may include art therapy, pet therapy, music therapy, and “medical play” to communicate detailed medical information to children in an age appropriate manner.

Since the launch of Spirit of Children’s fundraising component in 2007, the program has raised more than $29 million in cash and merchandise donations. In 2015, Spirit of Children worked with over 130 children’s hospitals across the United States and Canada. Every dollar donated goes directly to the partner hospitals’ Child Life departments.
