WHAT: ASTRO’s 55th Annual Meeting WHEN: Sunday, September 22 – Wednesday, September 25, 2013WHERE: Georgia World Congress Center, AtlantaWHY: Six on-site press briefings during the four-day meeting will feature leading researchers and highlight: updates in management of women’s cancers; improvements in care for prostate cancer; new developments in pediatric and adult central nervous system malignancies; four plenary papers; and ASTRO’s involvement in the national “Choosing Wisely” Initiative. The conference will emphasize the importance of the physician’s role in improving patient-reported outcomes and the quality and safety of patient care. WHO: More than 11,000 attendees are expected at this premier scientific meeting in radiation oncology. Attendees will include oncologists from all disciplines, medical physicists, dosimetrists, radiation therapists, radiation oncology nurses and nurse practitioners, biologists, physician assistants, practice administrators, industry representatives and other healthcare professionals.
Registration fees are waived for members of the media with professional credentials. The event offers opportunities to meet leaders in radiation oncology practice and research and learn about the latest innovations in radiation therapy.
