Newswise — Baltimore, MD –Baltimore philanthropist Lowell Glazer has generously supported LifeBridge Health for many years, including the gift of the Lowell and Harriet Glazer Atrium at Sinai Hospital, the architectural centerpiece of the facility. Now LifeBridge Health is proud to give back to Mr. Glazer, naming a special society in his honor – The LifeBridge Health Glazer Legacy Society, which recognizes benefactors who include Sinai Hospital, Northwest Hospital and Levindale Hebrew Geriatric Center and Hospital in their estate plans.

“Over the years, I have been honored to support and to be a part of LifeBridge Health, an organization that truly believes in its mission to maintain and improve the health of people living in our communities,” says Mr. Glazer, who serves as honorary chairman of the legacy society.

He adds, “Through the legacy society, we have the enjoyment and satisfaction in knowing that our gifts will allow LifeBridge Health to build on its strong foundation as well as grow and develop new programs that will make a real difference in people’s lives. I am touched that LifeBridge Health has chosen to rename the society in my honor.”

“Mr. Glazer has selflessly supported LifeBridge Health, contributing countless hours and funds to help patients, residents, families and employees,” says Julie Cox, vice president of the LifeBridge Health Development department. “His efforts and the efforts of other donors have been instrumental in helping LifeBridge Health’s major centers of excellence offer unmatched services and quality health care in Maryland.”

The LifeBridge Health Glazer Legacy Society recognizes patrons in a variety of ways so they can see the incredible impact that their legacy gifts have now and will continue to have. The society’s members receive regular updates about LifeBridge Health programs and activities. They meet annually for a dinner with LifeBridge Health leadership and board members to learn about future plans for the organization.

Mr. Glazer has served as the chairman of the Sinai Board of Directors, and he is still an active member. He says his favorite gift is the Sinai atrium, named for Mr. Glazer and his wife Harriet who passed away in March 2014. Mr. Glazer describes the atrium as airy and relaxing, which sets the tone when visitors walk into Sinai.

Through supporting LifeBridge Health financially and through his volunteer efforts, Mr. Glazer says that he considers his philanthropy to be part of his mission to reach out to people who are in a position to do similar mitzvahs (good deeds).

“No matter the gift size, you will know in your mind and in your heart that you will have done something that will live on, a legacy that will benefit others,” says Mr. Glazer.
