Newswise — Come out and support the American Autoimmune Related Diseases Association’s (AARDA) first annual Linked Fore A Cure Golf Benefit. The event will be held on Monday, September 23rd, 2013 at the Water's Edge Golf Club located at 7205 West 115th Street in Worth, Illinois. The fundraiser will begin at noon with registration starting at 11am.

The registration fee for individuals is $250 and $1,000 for foursomes. The day on the links begins as a 4-person scramble. Registration includes lunch, cocktails, and hors d'oeuvres. Rounding out the day will be a silent auction, raffle, and awards ceremony.

AARDA Board member, John Kaiser, organized the fundraiser. He is excited about the inaugural golf event.

“We hope to spread awareness of autoimmune diseases and raise research funds to bring us closer to a cure. The funds raised from this event will also be used to benefit the mission of AARDA. We hope that these actions are the beginning of annual collaborations with AARDA to raise research finding aimed at eradicating autoimmune diseases,” says Kaiser.

About AARDAAARDA is the only national nonprofit health agency dedicated to bringing a national focus to autoimmunity, the major cause of serious chronic diseases. Approximately 50 million Americans, 20 percent of the population or one in five people, suffer from autoimmune diseases. Women are more likely than men to be affected; some estimates say that 75 percent of those affected--some 30 million people--are women. Still, with these statistics, autoimmunity is rarely discussed as a women's health issue. ###
