Newswise — Philadelphia, PA – March 13, 2014) – Wolters Kluwer Health is pleased to announce today that its Nursing2014 journal, a peer-reviewed journal of clinical excellence, has been endorsed by the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS), the a global, cause-based, not-for-profit organization focused on better health through information technology (IT). Lippincott Williams & Wilkins (LWW), part of Wolters Kluwer Health, is the journal’s publisher of record. Another LWW journal, Nursing Management, has been endorsed by HIMSS since 2003.

As part of the endorsement, Nursing2014’s 170,000 subscribers will benefit from a monthly healthcare IT column, written by various members of the Society’s Nursing Informatics Committee, that will address the challenges that clinical nurses encounter while using patient care technology to enhance safety and efficiency. “Increasingly, nurses are impacted by health information technology as more organizations implement electronic health records,” says Joyce Sensmeier, MS, RN-BC, CPHIMS, FHIMSS, FAAN, Vice President of Informatics at HIMSS. “We’re pleased to partner with Nursing2014 and share best practices and timely resources to equip practicing nurses.”
