Parents of children with special needs are faced with a myriad of treatment options, as well as strategies to confront the unique issues they face. Dr. Lori Tall, PsyD, is available to comment on these options and issues.

Dr. Tall, a licensed Neuropsychologist with The Family Institute at Northwestern University, has a clinical practice that focuses on the evaluation and treatment of children with complex emotional, social and cognitive needs using a combination of neuropsychological testing and therapy. As a core member of the Rush Neurobehavioral Center clinical evaluation team, she has built a strong reputation within the Chicagoland area as a child's advocate, working closely with parents and schools to find the optimal learning environment based on the child's specific learning needs.

Dr. Tall trained and worked in several diverse clinical and academic settings across the country. After attaining her degree in psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology in Los Angeles, Dr. Tall was accepted into the University of Minnesota's Neuropsychology internship. Here she began her specific training within the field, and had the opportunity to work with other Neuropsychologist's who are leaders in the area of Autism research. Following internship, Dr. Tall took a position as a hospital- and community-based psychologist at Cincinnati Children's Medical Center. During this time, she conducted both an academic-based and rural clinical practice. While in Cincinnati, Dr. Tall participated in a national grant-funded study evaluating the different modes of treatment for depressed adolescents.

In addition to presenting at several national conferences, in 2007, Dr. Tall was a co-author in publishing the group's research in a peer-reviewed journal. During her time in Chicago, Dr. Tall co-wrote a book chapter on the neuropsychology of learning disorders.
