Newswise — Joshua Lee, MD, has joined Loyola University Health System as vice president and chief health information officer. He is also an associate professor in the Department of Medicine, Division of Internal Medicine at Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine.

In his new role, Dr. Lee will provide leadership in improving patient care through advanced use of technology and data. He will also have involvement in educational, clinical and research programs.

“We are delighted to have Dr. Lee join our leadership team in this newly formed role merging information technology and medical informatics into a single division to serve LUHS,” said Daniel J. Post, executive vice president for Loyola University Health System. Dr. Lee comes to Loyola from the University of Southern California’s (USC) Keck Medicine, where he served as chief information officer as well as the medical director of the USC Care Faculty Medical Group. He has also served as chief medical information officer at the UC San Diego Health System.

He received his medical degree from the University of California at San Francisco. He completed a residency and fellowship at Brigham and Women’s Hospital.

Dr. Lee earned his artium baccalaureus from Harvard College.

Dr. Lee has held additional academic and clinical appointments at Dartmouth Medical School and Harvard Medical School. He has served as a diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine.
