Newswise — On Thursday, April 14, key members of the community, along with Meridian Health executive leadership and members of the Riverview Medical Center Foundation Board of Trustees gathered at the Two River Theater in Red Bank, NJ for a sneak preview showcasing the new Meridian Integrative Health & Medicine program which is scheduled to launch this year.

The exclusive reception featured a detailed presentation from Timothy Hogan, FACHE regional hospital president for Monmouth County, Meridian Health, Lori Knutson, R.N., BSN, HNB-BC, administrative director of Integrative Health & Medicine, Meridian Health and Carol Ash, D.O., medical director of Integrative Health & Medicine, Meridian Health. While outlining what the community can expect with the launch of this program and providing the opportunity for attendees to ask questions, the event also introduced the program’s Five Pillars of Wellness – Sleep, Activity, Purpose, Nutrition and Resilience – through interactive table displays.

“Since Meridian Integrative Health & Medicine has the potential to transform the way health care is delivered in our community, we felt it was crucial to bring a select group of community leaders into the conversation early on,” shared Timothy Hogan, FACHE, regional hospital president for Monmouth County, Meridian Health. “We are grateful that so many showed a vested interest in the program and are more inspired than ever to bring this to the public.”

The Meridian Integrative Health & Medicine program will educate our communities to take a direct and proactive role in their health. Residents in our communities will be encouraged to attend large community based events focusing on education, screening and assessment. Once assessed, community members will be directed to the Center of Integrative Health & Medicine Center at Jackson Village to navigate the next steps of their healthcare journey based on the results of their wellness report card. At the Center, patients will receive a personally designed treatment plan through their primary care provider and integrative team of experts to address the Five Pillars of Wellness. The Center of Integrative Health & Medicine at Jackson Village is scheduled to open July 2016. “Hosting this preview event enabled us to share new details about the launch of Meridian Integrative Health & Medicine with our inner circle,” shared Joseph Stampe, president of Meridian Health Affiliated Foundations. “We also had the opportunity to thank our donors for the leadership gifts that helped develop this program. Being able to do that was really special for all of us.”
