Newswise — Roshni Vasaiwala, MD, an ophthalmologist who specializes in the care and management of difficult corneal diseases, has joined Loyola Medicine.
Dr. Vasaiwala will see patients at the Loyola Outpatient Center in Maywood and the Loyola Center for Health at Burr Ridge. Dr. Vasaiwala is an assistant professor in the department of ophthalmology at Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine. Dr. Vasaiwala, a resident of Glenview, Illinois, treats many anterior segment disorders of the eye including dry eye, corneal infections and keratoconus. She performs cataract surgery, corneal transplantation, ocular surface surgery and refractive surgery including LASIK. “Correct vision is critical to a person's overall well-being. When I see patients, I look at their eyesight and how it impacts not just their health but their life," said Dr. Vasaiwala. "I find it gratifying to partner with patients on their eyecare and together make lasting improvements." Dr. Vasaiwala received her medical degree from the University of Michigan Medical School and completed a transitional year residency at MacNeal Hospital, Berwyn, Illinois. She completed a residency in ophthalmology as well as a fellowship in cornea and refractive surgery at the University of Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary, Chicago. Dr. Vasaiwala is board certified in ophthalmology. She is fluent in Spanish and English.
Dr. Vasaiwala is an active member of the Cornea Society, the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology.
The Department of Ophthalmology offers a complete range of comprehensive and subspecialty eye care. All Loyola ophthalmology physicians are board certified with subspecialty fellowship training.
