Newswise — Diane Anci, dean of admission and vice president for enrollment, has announced that Karen Kirkpatrick Osgood will be Mount Holyoke’s new director of admission.

Osgood began working for the College as associate dean of admission in 2002. She was promoted to senior associate dean of admission in 2008, and in 2010 began serving as interim director of admission. Besides directing the work of the Office of Admission, Osgood manages admission’s communications program, MHC’s major recruitment tool.

“Karen brings with her many years of leadership experience,” said Anci. “In her time at Mount Holyoke, she has demonstrated great judgment and decision making. I am always confident that our work is done to the highest standards.”

“Karen cares deeply about and is always mindful of the needs of the students and families we serve just as she cares deeply about and is always mindful of the needs of the admission staff and the College,” she said.

Osgood has worked in higher education—at three all-women’s colleges—for 19 years, in the areas of admission and enrollment, student life, leadership programs management, development, and external relations. Prior to starting at MHC, she served as director of admissions operations and director of the Center for Inclusive Leadership and Social Responsibility at Pine Manor College in Chestnut Hill and as coordinator of external relations and marketing at the Leadership Institute of Wells College in Aurora, New York.

Osgood is also a member of the National and New England Associations of College Admission Counseling and of the Overseas Association for College Admission Counseling.She earned her B.A. from State University of New York at Albany (SUNY) and completed graduate course work in education and counseling at SUNY-Oswego. She lives with her husband in East Longmeadow.
