WHAT: ·University of Maryland physicians will offer details of a full face transplant performed over 36 hours on March 19th and 20th at the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center at the University of Maryland Medical Center.

·This face transplant is the most extensive full face transplant done to date.· 37-year-old male patient received a full face transplant, including upper and lower jawbones, teeth, a portion of the tongue, and soft tissue from hairline to neck.

·The face transplant was part of a 72-hour marathon of transplant activity at one of the busiest transplant centers in the world. Five other lives were saved through the heroic gift of organ donation by one anonymous donor. WHEN: Tuesday, March 27, 201210 a.m. ET
