Surgeons Todd Albert, MD, president of the Rothman Institute and chair of the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital; Alexander Vaccaro, MD, PhD, professor of Orthopedics and Neurosurgery at Jefferson Medical College and vice chair of the Department of Orthopedics at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital; and Alan Hilibrand, MD, professor of Orthopedic Surgery and Neurosurgery, and director of medical education at Jefferson Medical College and the Rothman Institute, were selected as among the finest surgeons, educators, investigators and administrators in America. The Rothman Institute at Jefferson is the only institution to have three surgeons on the list.

Orthopedics This Week called upon its comprehensive list of leading spine surgeons and thought leaders in spine to assemble a reliable list of the best of the best. In a telephone survey, Drs. Albert, Vaccaro and Hilibrand, were among those whose names were answered time and again to the question, “Who among your peers do you think is at the top of your profession?”
