Newswise — Ginger Hook, MSN, RN, has been named vice president and chief nursing officer of Gottlieb Memorial Hospital, Melrose Park, which is part of Loyola University Health System. Ms. Hook will assume this role on Monday, March 9. In this position, she will implement initiatives to advance high-quality, patient-centered care across the hospital.

“We are pleased to welcome Ginger to Gottlieb Memorial Hospital,” said Lori Price, MSA, RN, president, Gottlieb Memorial Hospital. “Her experience and leadership skills will be invaluable in this role.” As a seasoned nurse with nearly 25 years of experience, Ms. Hook has demonstrated her ability to lead new initiatives and diverse groups.

Most recently, she served as system director of clinical informatics at Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center in Indiana. She has been at Saint Joseph’s since 2007. She previously was vice president of cardiovascular services at La Porte Hospital and Health System. She served as a director of nursing for Maury Regional Hospital in Tennessee and director of pharmacy and physical therapy for Logansport Memorial Hospital in Indiana.

Ms. Hook served in the United States Army Reserve as a critical care nurse for 10 years, including active duty in Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom. She has also provided humanitarian healthcare support in El Salvador.
