Newswise — Bill Robertson, Ph.D., co-chair of the Department of Teacher Education and director of the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education division, is available to talk about what parents and caretakers can do to help children’s minds stay active this summer.

Dr. Bill Robertson teaches his lessons using action bmx riding and his specialty - skateboarding. His unique teaching style has guided thousands of students through STEM courses and has provided teachers an edge on their lesson plans. The three decade skater inked his success in a book called Action Science and is working with El Paso's largest school district to incorporate it into their middle school classroom.

Always one to combine education with athletic achievement, Bill has received a Ph.D. in Multicultural Teacher and Childhood Education. He also has accumulated undergraduate degrees in History, Spanish and Zoology, as well as a Master's degree in Education. Bill has been a high school and middle school teacher too. He is an accomplished professional announcer, performer, presenter and teacher. A skateboarder for over 35 years, Bill has entertained 1000's of spectators at schools, special events and festivals throughout the United States.
