Media AdvisoryWHAT: Researchers and faculty will demonstrate, for the first time, the capabilities of Stony Brook’s newest engineering feat, a one-of-a-kind 416-screen immersive visualization facility that rivals the performance of modern supercomputers. The project, constructed with a $1.4 million National Science Foundation grant and a $600,000 matching grant from Stony Brook University, is the largest ever built with 1.5 billion gigapixels; possible applications range from advanced medical imaging, space exploration, climate modeling, defense and more.
