Newswise — The Wistar Institute recently welcomed Elizabeth McKee Anderson; Daniel K. Fitzpatrick, CFA; and Lawrence V. Stein, Esq., to its board of trustees.
Elizabeth McKee Anderson is Worldwide Vice President, Vaccines, Global Strategic Marketing at Johnson & Johnson. In her current position, she played a pivotal role in the development of the J&J vaccines strategy, the acquisition and transition of Crucell N.V. into the J&J family and is responsible for the commercialization of the vaccines and novel influenza monoclonal antibody pipeline. Anderson previously served as the company’s Worldwide Vice President of Immunology, Global Strategic Marketing and partnered closely with R&D on the successful licensure and launch of key products. Prior to joining Johnson & Johnson, Anderson was Vice President and General Manager of Wyeth Lederle Vaccines, where she led the high-growth, $1 billion vaccines and pediatrics business unit. Anderson came to Wyeth from Rhone Poulenc Rorer, where she served as Vice President and General Manager for the U.S. biopharmaceuticals business.
Anderson is a Tau Beta Pi graduate of Rutgers College of Engineering and holds a master of business administration degree in finance from the Sellinger School of Business and Management, Loyola College in Maryland. She is a member of The Haverford School board of trustees, the Bryn Mawr Hospital Foundation board of trustees, the Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association and Pennsylvania BIO.
Daniel K. Fitzpatrick, a CPA and Chartered Financial Analyst, is the Regional CEO for the Mid-Atlantic Region of Citizens Bank. He also serves on the Citizens Financial Group Executive Leadership Group, the company’s senior leadership team. Fitzpatrick serves on the board and executive committee of the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce as well as the Chamber’s CEO Council for Growth. He is also on the board of directors of the Committee of Seventy and the Urban Affairs Coalition, and is a member of the executive committees of the Greater Philadelphia Convention and Visitor’s Bureau and the Office of Catholic Education of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. He is chairman of the CEO Ambassadors for 21st Century Skills, and is a member of the board of trustees of La Salle University, the board of directors of the Free Library of Philadelphia Foundation, and the Franklin Institute.
Fitzpatrick earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from La Salle University and an MBA from Drexel University.
Lawrence V. Stein, Esq., is Counsel at Reed Smith. Stein previously served as Senior Vice President and Deputy General Counsel and then Senior Vice President and General Counsel at Wyeth. While at Wyeth, he served on the board of directors of Immunex Corporation, and was a member of the compensation, stock option and nomination committees.
Stein received his juris doctorate, magna cum laude, from the University of Pennsylvania School of Law, where he served on the board of editors of the Law Review. He received a bachelor’s degree, cum laude, from Columbia College and a master of arts degree in European history from Cornell University. He is a member of the bars of the District of Columbia, the United States Supreme Court and various federal courts.
