Newswise — TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – U.S. News and World Report ranks UA’s Manderson Online Business Master’s programs 12th in the nation. The 2014 Grad Business Rankings released last week show the online master’s in the Culverhouse College of Commerce moved up from 75th last year.

The rankings for online master’s in business degree programs are based on level of accreditation, faculty credentials, admissions selectivity, reputation for excellence among peer institutions and academic and career support services offered to students.

Jan Jones is the Director of Specialized Masters Programs for Manderson. “I believe the higher ranking is not only indicative of how hard our faculty and administration has worked to provide the same academic services to our online students as the main campus students, but also of how the perception of online graduate degrees has made a positive change within the academic world,” Jones said.

Jones said that ninety-five percent of students are already employed when they first enroll in the online classes and she added that the online, graduate business programs at UA’s Manderson are accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB).

“Jones has done a phenomenal job growing these online programs,” Dean J. Michael Hardin said. “To move up the rankings 63 spots in one year is a huge accomplishment. It shows the amount of rigor our faculty and staff have put into making sure our students receive the best education possible.”
