WHOSE SCIENCE IS IT, ANYWAY?
A Conference on the Uses and Misuses of Science in Public Discourse
(Boston, Mass.) - On April 1 and 2 a distinguished panel of academic experts will gather to discuss "junk science" and how the public can make sense of the often contradictory studies reported by the media. Boston University's Institute for the Study of Economic Culture hosts "A Conference on the Uses and Misuses of Science in Public Discourse," which will explore the role of science in keeping citizens informed as it covers topics such as failed drug policies, science in the courts, and how social sciences affect the family.
The Saturday, April 1, session will be held in Boston University's George Sherman Union Conference Auditorium, 775 Commonwealth Avenue, Boston. The Sunday, April 2 session will be held in the College of Arts and Sciences, 725 Commonwealth Ave., Room 522. The conference is free and open to the general public.
