Newswise — Many of the nation's key economic, business and technology leaders will convene at Boston College on Friday, March 12, for an event that has become one of the foremost economic convocations in the United States. The Boston College Finance Conference 2004, "Wealth and Work in the 21st Century," will take place from 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

The conference -- organized in conjunction with U.S. Congressman Edward J. Markey (D-Mass.) and sponsored by BC's Carroll School of Management -- will include presentations from prominent business and government leaders, who will address some of the most compelling current economic topics, including the frontiers of technology and business innovation and the controversial issue of globalization and its impact on international trade and U.S. jobs.

The event marks Boston College's fourth major conference on finance and the economy, with previous events in 1994, 1996 and 2000. This year's conference will explore the critical national issues that have arisen since the New Economy took center stage at the last BC event.

Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan will deliver the main address. He also will receive an honorary degree from Boston College at a ceremony preceding his remarks.
