As the nation watches and waits to see whether the $85 billion “sequestration” budget cuts go into effect as planned on Friday, millions are attempting to grasp how the reduction in everything from military spending to education funding to airport operations may impact them.
Dr. Memo Diriker of Salisbury University’s Franklin P. Perdue School of Business is available to speak with reporters on the sequestration reductions and what may — or may not — happen if President Obama cannot convince congressional Republicans to reconsider the automatic cuts.
Diriker is the founding director of the Business, Economic and Community Outreach Network (BEACON). He has served as an expert on financial matters for media outlets including The Washington Post, New York Daily News, Baltimore Sun and Yahoo! News, among others.
