Newswise — Paramount Advantage has been approved to serve eligible Medicaid recipients throughout Ohio. It was offered a statewide provider agreement by the Office of Medical Assistance (formerly the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services) to expand its service area from 18 to 88 counties. To support the expansion, Paramount will open new offices in Cleveland, Columbus and the Cincinnati/Dayton area this year. Paramount’s main office is located at 1901 Indian Wood Circle in Maumee.

In January 2012, the Ohio Office of Medical Assistance released a Request for Application (RFA) for the provision of managed care services to eligible Medicaid recipients. The RFA required cutting the state’s eight regions down to three with limited managed care organizations per region. Paramount Advantage was one of five Medicaid plans selected from a field of 12 applicants. After months of preparation Paramount Advantage was officially offered a statewide provider agreement on Feb. 22, 2013 by the Office of Medical Assistance.

Paramount Advantage is an Ohio nonprofit health plan that has been in business for 20 years. It currently serves nearly 100,000 eligible Medicaid recipients in northwest Ohio.
