Newswise — Glenview, IL: The Hematology/Oncology Pharmacy Association (HOPA) is pleased to present the HOPA Oncology Pharmacy Practice Management program, taking place September 27 from 7:00 am – 7:00 pm at the Sheraton Chicago O’Hare Airport Hotel, designed to guide oncology pharmacy providers on how to effectively manage the expensive, high risk care and oncology medications they provide, but still allow for the implementation of new technologies, improvement of safety, and adhere to compliance. HOPA recognizes the financial challenges oncology pharmacists face balancing the needs of their departments to incorporate advancing technological resources and services to improve patient care while the health care dollars they have to work with dwindle. With these issues in mind, Oncology Pharmacists, Pharmacy Managers, Pharmacy Directors, Oncology Residents, Administrative Residents, Oncology Business Managers are encouraged to attend this exclusive program led by experts in the field of oncology pharmacy management.

This robust program will delve into several areas of pharmacy services and show attendees how to navigate specific, day-to-day management challenges. Session topics include: justification for clinical services, cost containment, CPOE and Smart Pumps, maximizing reimbursement, and regulatory compliance. Upon completion of the program, participants will be able to:• Implement oncology clinical services and new technologies to improve patient care• Outline requirements for facility and staff compliance with preparation and handling regulations for high risk medications• Identify ways to maximize revenue and minimize write-offs• Manage high cost medications and the addition of new medications to the formulary, including biosimilars• Describe strategies that will provide pharmacy leaders with the tools needed to effectively communicate their business and their message to the C-suite
