Thomas Drake, MD Becomes New Chief Medical Officer at Porter Adventist Hospital

Newswise — DENVER — On July 16, Thomas Drake, MD officially took over as the new Chief Medical Officer at Porter Adventist Hospital in South Denver.

Prior to accepting this position, Dr. Drake worked as an Emergency Medicine physician at the hospital and was Regional Director of Medical Education for Rocky Vista University.

For more than two decades, Dr. Drake has served Porter Adventist Hospital in several roles including department of medicine chairman, credentials committee chairman, and chief of staff. He currently serves as medical director of case management.

Dr. Drake completed his undergraduate education and medical school at Indiana University. He then pursued an internal medicine internship at University of Colorado Health Sciences Center after which he became chief resident in Emergency Medicine. He completed the Denver General and Affiliated Hospital Program in Emergency Medicine, is board certified in Emergency Medicine and a fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians.
