SU Earthquake Expert Available to Discuss M7.3 in Japan

Dr. Michael Scott, director of the Eastern Shore Regional GIS Cooperative at Salisbury University, is available to speak with media regarding this afternoon’s 7.3 magnitude earthquake in Japan.
He can discuss topics including why earthquakes tend to occur in the same geographical region, how earthquakes cause tsunamis and what impact this could have on the United States and other regions.
Scott has overseen GIS work for the Maryland Department of the Environment and has been lauded for his efforts in flood analysis by the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
