Newswise — College Park, MD December 18, 2013 – Governor Rick Scott declared, in an official proclamation, that the upcoming week of January 4-11, 2013 will be "Physics Education Week" in Florida.

In making his proclamation, Governor Scott recognizes the importance of physics education and research as a benefit to citizens of, not only Florida, but also the United States of America intellectually, economically, and socially."

The proclamation also specifically recognizes the American Association of Physics Teachers (AAPT) for the development of effective teaching resources and enrichment programs. The full proclamation is available online.
