Newswise — PHILADELPHIA, PA (February 3, 2014) -- Nursing Management, the Journal of Excellence in Nursing Leadership, appointed Rosanne Raso, MS, RN, NEA-BC, Editor-in-Chief, effective immediately. Raso is the Associate Executive Director of Patient Care Services and Nurse Executive at Lenox Hill Hospital/North Shore-LIJ Health System, New York, N.Y.

“Growing up as a nurse leader, I found inspiration in the pages of this journal. I’m now honored and humbled to have the opportunity to lead the publication that guided me along my nursing career,” said Raso. “The status quo won’t get us to where we need to be in our rapidly changing healthcare world. We need leaders who are willing to push the envelope to drive inspiration.”

Raso has served on the journal’s editorial board, peer review panel, and conference planning panel since 2001. In addition, Raso is past-president of the New York Organization of Nurse Executives and has held numerous committee appointments from the American Organization of Nurse Executives and the American Association of Critical Care Nurses.

Throughout her 38-year nursing career, Raso has held key leadership positions at the manager, director, and executive level--from clinical nurse specialist and assistant director of critical care, to vice-president of operations and chief nursing officer.

As Editor-in-Chief, Raso welcomes the ideas and suggestions of nurse leaders and encourages them to share their expertise with her and with the journal. She can be reached at [email protected] for comments.
