With the recent FDA anti-smoking commercials just released and the new announcement of CVS pulling tobacco products, please let me know if you would like a Houston Methodist medical expert to discuss further.

Dr. Shanda Blackmon, thoracic surgeon, Houston Methodist Hospital: Her expertise is in lung cancer (she heads up our lung cancer screening program, as well as surgically treats patients), metastatic tumors of the lungs and esophageal cancer.

Dr. Eric Bernicker, thoracic medical oncologist, Houston Methodist Cancer Center: Bernicker works closely with our thoracic surgeons. His areas of interest are in lung cancer (he’s involved in several clinical trials focused on investigative chemotherapy and gene therapy treatments), head & neck cancer, hematology/oncology and Hodgkins Disease.

Dr. Reginald Munden, chair of the department of radiology, Houston Methodist Hospital: Munden is known internationally for his expertise in thoracic imaging, particularly of CT and PET/CT imaging in lung cancer. Before joining Houston Methodist, he was a site principal investigator for the National Lung Cancer Screening Trial.
