Cornell University professor of nutrition and psychology, David Levitsky, says while the federal health survey shows great progress among pre-K children, it does not solve the larger issue of adults who don’t appear to be getting any thinner.

Levitsky says:

“Although this is very good news, it is difficult to ascribe it to anything we are doing. Almost all obesity-prevention programs we have been advertising to the public have focused on educating people how to eat more healthy and to exercise more often.

“The drop in body weight that has been reported is seen among pre-K children who are too young to absorb our messages, while those of us who are subject to these messages do not appear to be getting any thinner.

“Perhaps parents are teaching do as I say not as I do.”

Cornell University has television, ISDN and dedicated Skype/Google+ Hangout studios available for media interviews.
