Newswise — WASHINGTON (Mar. 19, 2014) — The George Washington University (GW) School of Medicine and Health Sciences student-run Healing Clinic will host their 15th Annual Charity Auction this evening. The Online Auction is now open and accepting bids. One hundred percent of the proceeds go directly to supporting the Clinic’s operational expenses, including medical and lab supplies, program supplies, and facility costs, as well as funding new initiatives such as opening a second clinic site to serve more patients and students alike.

The GW Healing Clinic strives to help expand health care to Washington, D.C. residents regardless of insurance status or ability to pay. Every week, a team of dedicated medical students, physician assistant students, public health students, and volunteer attending physicians provide primary care to underserved patients in D.C. The Clinic’s mandate is to offer high quality care for patients in a confidential and respectful environment, while enriching the educational experience of the students who participate.
