Newswise — COLUMBIA, Md. – To further accelerate its growth, xG Health Solutions™ today appointed Andrew Blackmon as its chief sales and business development officer. xG Health, a one-year-old start-up spun out from Geisinger Health System, is an independently operated company financially backed by Oak Investment Partners that leverages Geisinger’s intellectual property and expertise to help health care provider organizations succeed under value-based payment models.
Mr. Blackmon brings more than 18 years of experience in health care product sales, marketing and strategy to the chief sales and business development officer role at xG Health, in which Andrew will be responsible for driving direct sales as well as establishing and overseeing relationships with sales channel partners. He joins xG Health from McKesson where he was vice president of sales for population health and risk management solutions. Andrew came to McKesson through acquisition of MedVentive, an early population health vendor. Prior to MedVentive, Andrew served as a vice president of enterprise solutions development at MedAssets. He is a past president of the Georgia chapter of Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society and has held strategy and planning positions at PricewaterhouseCoopers and Orlando Health earlier in his career.

Andrew holds an MBA and a Master’s of Health Science (MHS) from the University of Florida Warrington College of Business in Gainesville, Fla and a BA in psychology from Rollins College in Winter Park, Fla.
