Newswise — Three startups ─ Vedavoo, Lilypad Scales, and HigherMe ─ are the 2014 winners of the Babson College B.E.T.A. (Babson Entrepreneurial Thought and Action®) Challenge.

The entrepreneur winners in three categories ─ alumni, undergraduate student, and graduate student ─ competed to win a grand prize of $20,000 each in cash and “services in kind” donations from corporate sponsors.

B.E.T.A. Challenge entrepreneurs must demonstrate success in reaching major milestones achieved through action.

Graduate Student Winner • HigherMe – Rob Hunter M’14 and Evan Lodge M’14 HigherMe is a website and mobile application that gives prospective employees the chance to submit short 1­-minute video introductions to any retail establishments in their area. We turn around and show the videos to prospective employers, who are now able to get a glimpse of the more human qualities necessary to succeed in retail environments.
