Professor Marley Weiss of the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law, an expert in employment law and unions is available for immediate commentary on the Supreme Court's Harris v. Quinn ruling on whether workers can be required to pay fees to public-sector unions to cover bargaining costs.
Professor Weiss is the former associate general counsel of the United Auto Workers and served as Chairperson of the National Advisory Committee to the U.S. National Administrative Office for the NAFTA Labor Side Agreement from 1994-2001. In 1996-1997, she served as Secretary-elect, and in 1997-1998, as Secretary, of the American Bar Association Section of Labor and Employment Law.
