Newswise — With more than four decades of higher education experience, Dale Trusheim, PhD, has been named associate vice president for institutional effectiveness at University of the Sciences in Philadelphia. Dr. Trusheim comes to the University having served as the assistant provost for institutional research and assessment at Washington College in Maryland since 2008.
“Dr. Trusheim’s impressive background demonstrates his ability to manage some of the most important initiatives of a college or university, including the reaccreditation process and strategic planning,” said Heidi M. Anderson, PhD, provost and vice president for academic affairs at USciences. “His expertise in institutional research and planning positions him to assure that USciences meets its obligations both internally and externally.”
In his new role, Dr. Trusheim will be responsible for all institutional research and oversight of assessment and planning. Because of his extensive background in these areas, Dr. Trusheim will be charged with developing a new institutional data and analytics infrastructure, creating University dashboards and benchmarking reports, as well as coordinating the office response for internal and external requests for institutional data.
Aside from his time at Washington College, Dr. Trusheim spent more than 20 years as the associate director of institutional research and planning at University of Delaware. He began his career in higher education as the assistant director of admissions at Washington College; then went on to serve in several leadership capacities during his 12 years of service with the college.
Dr. Trusheim, a resident of Newark, Del., holds a doctorate in sociology of education, as well as a master’s degree in educational studies, from University of Delaware. He also earned a bachelor’s degree with double majors in Spanish and music from Washington College.
